Established in 1967 by California's Legislature, Air Resources Board conducts research into the causes of and solutions to air pollution, systematically attack the serious problems caused by motor vehicles and attains and maintains healthy air quality. Based in Sacramento, Calif., it works with the public, the business sector and local governments to protect the public's health, the economy and the state's ecological resources. Air Resources Board sets and enforces emission standards for motor vehicles, fuels and consumer products.
