The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is set back from the road, but it's easy to spot thanks to the giant Emmy Award statue out front. The offices and theater contained within the campus aren't open to the public, but the Hall of Fame Plaza (over which the Emmy statue stands guard) welcomes all visitors. Palm trees surround the plaza and provide shade for guests, many of whom bring their lunch or a book and sit on the benches or steps. A water feature offers gentle background sounds. Television fans can wander among the Hall of Fame busts, which feature likenesses of notable small-screen performers, directors and executives. From Bill Cosby, Walt Disney and Bob Hope to Betty White, Oprah and Rod Serling, the busts cover a wide range of talents and are popular props for snapshots.
