Founded in 1900 by the Olivetan Benedictine Sisters, St. Bernards Medical Center serves residents throughout northeastern Arkansas, as well as portions of southeastern Missouri and western Tennessee. Its physicians specialize in cancer treatment, heart care, senior health, anesthesiology, critical care, diabetes, dialysis, emergency care, pediatrics, respiratory care, rehabilitation, surgery, diagnostics and a variety of other medical fields. St. Bernards Medical Center is located in Jonesboro, Ark. Its service area includes more than 600,000 people in 23 counties. The nonprofit, 375-bed referral center is affiliated with the University of Arkansas Medical School. It also maintains a charitable organization, the St. Bernards Foundation, that raises funds to support the center s programs and services.
