Nucor-Yamato Steel Company has the capacity to produce more than 2.5 million tons of beams, H-piling, sheet piling, standard I-beams, channels and other structural shapes per year. With the goal of operating a steel mini-mill to manufacture wide-flange beams, Nucor-Yamato Steel Company was formed in 1987 as a partnership between Nucor Corporation and Yamato Kogyo Company. The company has gone from a northeast Arkansas cotton field to one of the largest structural steel mills in the Western Hemisphere. Employing more than 800 people, Nucor-Yamato Steel Company is located in Blytheville, Ark.
