Central Arkansas Water is a metropolitan utility system that provides drinking water for residential and commercial applications. It serves a population of more than 390,000 individuals throughout Pulaski, Saline, and Grant counties in Arkansas. The utility has over 120,500 industrial, retail and master-metered customers. It consists of distribution, engineering, information services, administration, and source and treatment departments. The utility maintains nearly 15 booster pump stations and approximately 20 remote storage facilities. It additionally has more than 2,000 miles of pipeline and serves an area of over 360 square miles. The utility operates the Jack H. Wilson Water Treatment Plant and the Ozark Point Water Treatment Plant. Its distribution is responsible for the repair, maintenance and installation of meters, mains, fire hydrants and valves. The utility offers 24-hour on-call emergency services for police and fire departments. It additionally provides design, construction management, water inspection, laboratory testing, sampling and replacement scheduling services. The utility offers online billing and payment services. Central Arkansas Water has received the Public Water Supply Environmental Excellence award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
