Central Arkansas Development Council is a private, nonprofit organization working to improve the quality of life of communities in Arkansas. The organization engages low-income individuals and families in programs and services that improve their ability to become self-sufficient. The organization promotes opportunities for empowerment through senior adult centers, community and program development. Central Arkansas Development Council organizes family development credential classes developed by Cornell University. More than 12 counties in Arkansas and over 35,000 individuals have participated in various activities held by Central Arkansas Development. The organization is one of the leading community action agencies offering a broad network of services, including nutrition, energy assistance, weatherization, transportation, community development, head start, senior adult centers, microenterprise development and other training opportunities. The organization works through a network of county-based and community-based offices and public forums. Central Arkansas Development is located in Benton, Ark.
