I grew up in a small town in Colorado?my family were ranchers and farmers. I think that background made me appreciate the complexity of life and the healing power of the body. As a general surgeon, I treat lots of conditions, including hernia repair and digestive conditions like diverticulitis, acid reflux and gastroparesis. I?m passionate about breast surgery, correcting both benign and malignant conditions. What?s foremost in my mind is the patient?s overall well-being. Breast surgery is a traumatic experience, and I work to avoid any deformity and to preserve my patients? sense of self-esteem and self-worth post-surgery. In recent years, we?ve seen great advances in minimally invasive surgeries which leave as little trace as possible. That?s the ideal that I strive for. I would want my patients to know that I?m dedicated to the best clinical outcome for them, but also to an outcome that helps them not only feel good, but feel good about themselves.
