The Tucson Developmental Services Department is a government agency that provides a variety of zoning, planning, management and engineering services for the City of Tucson in Tucson, Ariz. Its responsibilities include building/construction permits, sign codes, zoning enforcement, floodplain engineering and building inspections. In 2005, the department issued more than 2,700 permits with a total valuation of more than $300 million. Tucson is located in Pima County in Arizona and has a population of more than 500,000. It is the largest city in southern Arizona and the second largest in Arizona.
