We have moved to the age of standard industry practice. The 'Direct Repair Program, DRP, was offered to car shops by insurance companies but it turned the industry into an assembly line. It cut shop rates and forced shops to repair what really needed replacing. So now what appears to be an independent shop is often just an arm of the insurance industry where 'Good Enough' rules the day. With this chasing of the dollar came a new breed of tech with a new way of thinking about the repair process.
