We at Mesquite Interiors strive to achieve what many have described as functional art. Every piece is constructed using mortise and tenon joinery just as all master furniture craftsmen have done so for centuries. All of our lumber has been reclaimed from three reservoirs in Mexico, after having been submerged for over 45 years. Mesquite must be kiln dried in order to attain its maximum stability levels. We season our lumber for up to 12 years. It is then kiln dried four months to four years, depending on its thickness. Each piece is made from a single log. Whether it is an end table or a complete dining set, it is made from one tree. This ensures color and grain match. Building from a single log also guarantees uniform, albeit minimal, contraction and expansion. We exclusively use a Danish oil, hand rubbed finish which imparts a depth and luster unachievable by any other means. We have many pieces in stock at all times. Although, custom orders comprise about 85% of our production.
