Parking and public transportation at Lynx Lake Recreation Area
Visitors to Lynx Lake Recreation have a couple of different parking options. For those just wanting to picnic at the day use area, go East on Hwy 69 leaving Prescott. Turn right on Walker Rd. and go south for approximately 2 miles. Once you see the sign for the marina, turn left and follow the road past the Lynx Lake Marina and Store. A parking lot is just on the other side. Going camping at Lynx Campground? Take Walker Rd. one mile further south. The campground is on the left side of Walker Road. No public transportation services the Lynx Lake Recreation Area.
Best and Worst Time to go to Lynx Lake Recreation Area
The Lynx Lake Recreation Area is high traffic all year around, but especially during the summer months. Plan ahead if you plan on spending a day out on Lynx Lake during the summer. If at all possible, get your boat or other recreation rentals lined up in advance. If you just plan on hiking or biking, the fall and winter months are just as good, although you might have to deal with snow on the ground. Dusk and dawn are also particularly popular times to visit the area.
Admission to Lynx Lake Recreation Area
Visitors and campers alike are required to pay a fee at the Lynx Lake Recreation Area. Fees range between $5 and $10 for day use and $15 to $40 for camping.

There is something for everyone at the Lynx Lake Recreation Area. Water lovers will enjoy looking out over the lake and fishing for a few hours. Hikers have multiple trails to choose from, and can explore Arizona's beautiful pine forests, full of fascinating flora and breathtaking rock formations. Love boating? Test out your new paddle, oar or sail powered boat.

Downtown Prescott is just down the road from the Lynx Lake Recreation Area. Visitors that want to get in some retail therapy will have plenty of options along Whiskey Row while history buffs may want to check out the Sharlot Hall Museum.

Interested in Native American history? Make sure to hike The Lynx Ruins trail. The trail is an easy half mile walk surrounded by pinons and junipers. And the trek to the ancient ruins is mesmerizing and worth checking out.
