Established in 1882, Knights of Columbus came into being to render financial aid to members and their families. Serving the areas of United States, Canada, the Philippines, Mexico, Poland, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Cuba and Guatemala, among other countries, it offers mutual aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families. The organization promotes social and intellectual fellowship among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works. The Order has also helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs.
