John Hall opened the doors of John Hall and Associates for the first time in 1974. He created a real estate brokerage with the concept of paying real estate agents 100% of their commission - unlike the normal model of splitting the commission between the broker and the agent. In 1989, Hall hired Jim Sexton to take over the broker duties. Sexton created a streamline process to get contacts reviewed and approved in a timely manner. In 1992 Sexton brought the company from Hall and has actively run it ever since. Today Sexton remains an active part of the day to day operations; answering agent questions, speaking at weekly office meetings and volunteering within the industry with the goal of improving it from the inside out.
