History
Larry learned his culinary craftsmanship as an apprentice in the great restaurants of Manhattan, New York City, and Four-Star hotels, restaurants of Connecticut, Colorado and AZ. Our first restaurant was in Evergreen, Colorado, Cedar 65. After several successful years they decided to move back to Arizona and eventually opening Twist Bistro and Gallery. Luck was not on their side. They struggled through Covid-19, closures, restrictions, staff issues, plus not qualifying for PPE support. Due to these challenges they have decided to make changes. Doing a deep dive of research in both food and culture, speaking to local business owners, consultants, executive chefs and our customers, and months of tireless work, they were inspired with the concept of Ginnys Kitchen, (a tribute to Chef Larry's Mom). They will bring quality scratch made food inspired by loving generations of American mothers along with local craft beers, California wines, hard lemonades, Kentucky bourbons and Moonshine!

My Taste of America... In all my training as a young chef I was always eager to learn the famous dishes of France, Italy, Greece, etc. I was trained by some of the great chefs and practiced these dishes whenever possible, feeling it made me an elite chef. When working with Chuck Wiley, at the Boulders Resort in the mid 90's, he first brought my attention to the re-discovery of historical American food. Following in the footsteps of great American chefs, like James Beard, Alice Waters, Bradley Odgen, they presented old fashioned iconic dishes with an elevated culinary approach using top quality ingredients. This helped me to realize that most of the famous French, Italian, etc. dishes were originally peasant dishes that sounded exotic because they were from foreign countries. So I thought... why don't we celebrate OUR famous cultural dishes - be proud of our American history? It is with this inspiration that Ginnys Kitchen will be presenting fabulous cultural dishes such as: Biscuits, Cornbread, Maryland Crab Cakes, Fried Green Tomatoes, Chicken Pot Pie, BBQ, and Mac 'n Cheese and great desserts: Chocolate Cream Pie, Fruit Cobblers, and Beignets. Pair our food with beers, wines and famous cocktails with American roots like hard Lemonades, Moonshine, Kentucky Bourbon, and California Wines. We hope you will explore our culinary cultural history at Ginnys Kitchen! ...Chef Larry Shore
