Yavapai County Government, located in Cottonwood, Ariz., is a legislative body that provides community development services. It operates various departments for development services, adult probation, finance, health services, human resources, public works, and management information and geographic information systems. Its development services department is responsible for providing development-related services to protect and promote public health, safety and welfare. Its building safety unit issues building construction permits; develops and reviews building construction plans and conducts on-site inspections. It is also responsible for the management, control and enforcement of technical building codes and ordinances in connection with the quality of materials used and other aspects of construction. Additionally, the department s environmental service unit issues permits for the construction and approval of water, wastewater, and sewer line systems and extensions. It also responds to complaints in relation to environmental and public health codes violations. Its development services department additionally provides services to the planning and zoning commission and the unincorporated communities of the Yavapai County Government.
