History
Dayspring is our home, worship and faith center. It is a place of joyful events and where we come to celebrate, remember, grow and mourn. It is a rich environment that nurtures and engages those that walk through the doors. We began in 1963 as a mission church, Christ Chapel, incorporated May 8, 1967. First members and Pastor Bufkin Oliver met at Tempe Mortuary. Eventually we purchased land and built two buildings across the street on property along Southern Ave. A vibrant and diverse fellowship, we worshipped in the round, and expanded education, service and music opportunities as we grew. We welcomed everyone, were community oriented and giving. We spanned all view points, and were active in Tempe. Vibrant, growing, inclusive and engaged membership continues as our strongest asset today.
