Cochise County Health Department s mission is to promote health and quality of life for all Cochise County, Ariz., residents through education, service and leadership. It has four divisions: environmental health division, public health services, health promotion and education services and office of vital records. Located in Bisbee, Ariz., the department provides a wide variety of programs and services, including asthma education and prevention; nutrition assessment and counseling; body image/obesity education and prevention; outbreak investigations; contraception counseling; pregnancy testing; diabetes education and prevention; quarantine control; emergency and bio-terrorism preparedness; restaurant and sanitation inspections; food handlers tests and training. Cochise County Health Department also performs ground water sampling and testing; teen pregnancy case management; HIV counseling, testing and education; immunizations; vital records; jail and juvenile health care services; Women, Infants & Children program; X-rays for tuberculosis control; court-ordered mental health services; and zoonotic disease investigations.
