History
I established the Braha Massage Studio in Tempe in 2003 so that I could continue treating the many members and athletes of the Arizona Athletic Club in Tempe, Arizona. After three and a half years of success as a massage therapist at the AAC (the premier Athletic Club in the Phoenix Metro area since the early 70's), the AAC had run its course and shut its doors in December of 2002. In 1999 I earned my 1000 hour master massage graduate diploma from Rainstar University in Scottsdale, Arizona. This all inclusive program featured a complete immersion into the major systems of the human body, along with a thorough hands-on study of the art and business of massage therapy. In June of 2000 I earned my neuromuscular massage therapy (NMT) certification from The Paul St. John Institute in Florida.
Specialties
Neuromuscular Massage Therapy is a comprehensive program of soft tissue manipulation techniques that balance the central nervous system (brain, spinal column and nerves) with the structure and form of the musculoskeletal system. NMT is based on neurological laws that explain how the central nervous system maintains homeostatic balance. These same laws dictate how the central nervous system initiates pain response. From this advanced teaching I learned how to assess a person's posture (which often reveals clues to the source of their pain) and precise massage techniques that treat muscles accurately and efficiently. In addition to my specialty in neuromuscular massage, I offer deep-tissue massage, sports massage, relaxation massage, lymphatic drainage massage, Hawaiian lomi lomi massage, foot reflexology, and any combination of these in my practice.
