The Buckeye Water Conservation and Drainage District (BWCDD) was established in 1922 by the farmers of the Buckeye Valley and Buckeye Irrigation Company to repair and maintain the Buckeye Canal, manage aquifer water levels, and deliver irrigation to over 17,000 acres annually.
With a history dating back to 1885, the BWCDD serves both agricultural and residential land, providing nearly 130,000 acre-feet of irrigation each year and serving as an Electrical District for its irrigation customers.
