The Arizona State Parks Department is responsible for managing various recreational facilities. The department is a part of Arizona State Parks, which is an agency that protects and preserves more than 25 natural and cultural resources. The agency administers a trail program that includes technical assistance for organizations in Arizona. In addition, it hosts conferences, training sessions and educational events. Arizona State Parks conducts statewide research. The agency is also responsible for managing over five grant programs. It coordinates with several advisory committees. Arizona State Parks has a gift shop that provides a variety of merchandise, such as apparel, DVDs, ornaments, books, hats and maps.
