Office of Women s and Children s Health, headquartered in Phoenix, is a division of the Arizona Department of Health Services. The office supports efforts to improve the health of Arizona s women and children. Its activities focus on assessment of health status and identification of health issues, development of partnerships and planning to address health issues and provision of safety net services. Its planning education and partnerships program provides leadership for statewide priority setting, planning and policy development and supports community efforts to assure the health of women, children and their families. It also provides a community service section that services children and families who are at risk for developmental delay, metabolic and genetic disorders or hearing impairment. It also provides an assessment and evaluation section, responsible for supporting research and evaluation related to women and children s health, including statewide performance, outcome and health status indicators. The office also comes out with various publications and hosts regular meetings and conferences.
