Located in Gila Bend, Arizona, the 9/11 Memorial Park is a serene and contemplative space built around a steel beam remnant from the wreckage of the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. The park features a shallow reflection pool, flagpoles displaying the American flag, Arizona State flag, GB Fire Dept flag, and a POW-MIA flag, as well as seating along stacked stone walls and picnic tables.
With its updated landscaping, including sod, flowering plants, and shaded areas, the park provides a peaceful environment for remembrance and honors the lives lost in the attacks, as well as the emergency responders and those affected by the tragedy. The Town of Gila Bend holds an annual 9/11 ceremony at the park to pay tribute to the victims and heroes of that fateful day.
