Chenega Operations Services, LLC
Chenega Corporation is an Alaskan native village corporation. In 1974, Chenega had nearly 70 original shareholders. Approximately 120 shareholders residing in Chenega Bay, Anchorage, Valdez, Cordova, Tatitlek and Talkeetna, Alaska, and several other cities within the continental United States, now own nearly 6,900 corporate shares. The company received title to approximately 70,000 acres in western Prince William Sound. Following the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill, the EVOS Trustee Council established a habitat restoration program to buy large blocks of private land from willing sellers, particularly land intended for timber harvest. Once purchased, the lands were to remain in an undeveloped, natural state to help protect resources injured by the oil spill. It operates through a number of subsidiaries that include Chenega Advanced Solutions & Engineering, Chenega Integrated Systems, Chenega Management, Chenega Operations Services, Chenega Security & Protection Services, Chenega Technology Services Corporation and Chenega Federal Systems. Chenega Corporation is headquartered in Anchorage.
