TelAlaska is a statewide, full-service telecommunications provider whose roots were established in rural Alaska by the Rhyner family some 35 years ago. The company provides local telephone service, advanced data services, dial-up, digital subscriber lines and cable modem Internet service, cable television and wireless Internet services. The company is a holding company for a number of subsidiaries, including Interior Telephone Company, which provides local exchange telephone service to more than 10 rural communities; Mukluk Telephone Company, which provides local exchange telephone service to nearly 15 communities; Eyecom Cable, which offers cable television to four communities; TelAlaska Long Distance, which provides low direct-dialed tariffed rates; and TelAlaska NetWorks, which provides Internet services for residents and businesses. Headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, TelAlaska companies also have customer service and operations sites in Unalaska/Dutch Harbor, Seward and Nome.
