Fairbanks Community Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that collects and redistributes donated food various to individuals and agencies. The organization distributes nutritional products through a range of programs, including Food Boxes, Bone Builders, and Agency Shopping. Founded in 1982, its temporary emergency food assistance program distributes corn flakes, dried beans and canned vegetables. Fairbanks Community Food Bank serves more than 300 families and delivers over 100 boxes to local home-bound recipients. The organization organizes the Skip-A-Meal fundraiser at various workplaces. It is registered with the United States Internal Revenue Service. In addition, it administers the WIC Summer Supplementation program for women, children and infants.
