The Alaska Arts Education Consortium is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing teaching and learning in and through the arts across Alaska. They provide professional development opportunities for Alaska teachers through their Summer Institutes and offer online art lessons created by Alaskan teachers through their Art Bytes program. The consortium also celebrates and honors individuals and organizations who champion the arts in education in Alaska.
With a focus on honoring the cultural traditions of the Alaska Native peoples, the consortium acknowledges the Iñupiaq, Dene, Yup'ik and Cup'ik, Sugpiaq, Lingít, Haida, Tsimshian, and Unangax communities. Through their work, they aim to grow from the deep cultural wisdom of these communities and promote arts integration in education throughout the state. The consortium is always seeking teacher-leaders for their Arts Institutes and welcomes support through donations.
