Mrs. Pugh is a graduate of the University of Mobile where she received a Bachelor of Science in nursing. While earning her undergraduate degree, she was elected and served as president of the Student Nurses Association and spearheaded health fairs to promote community health awareness. After graduation, she was employed at Mobile Infirmary in the surgical intensive care unit and received valuable experience in caring for patients with acute life-threatening medical conditions. She also completed a dual degree and received a Master's of Science in nursing as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Clinic Nurse Specialist. She received extended training in transplant nephrology. She is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. She also serves as a clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students attending universities from around the state of Alabama. She is also an active member of Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology and Oncology. Mrs. Pugh provides disease specific services to patients who have completed or receiving cancer treatment and require increased surveillance. She is involved in developing and providing comprehensive care in the areas first High-Risk Cancer Clinic in which she identifies patients that have an increased risk of developing cancer.
