Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, established in 1919 and located in Florence, Ala., is a general acute care facility for northwest Alabama. The hospital is one of the largest medical facilities in northwest Alabama, south central Tennessee and northeast Mississippi. The more than 370-bed facility is also has a full-service heart and cardiac program. Its cardiac physicians offer diagnostic and medical treatments along with open-heart surgery suites and recovery facilities. In addition, it operates women and children services, including obstetrics and gynecology, and pediatric units. The hospital s 24-hour emergency department serves as a referral center for major trauma cases in the area. It also provides, oncology, pulmonary, ambulatory, endoscopy, laboratory and imaging services with a staff of more than 200 physicians representing over 40 specialty areas of medicine.
