Founded in 1973, The Lee County Youth Development Center provides community and home-based prevention programs, as well as therapeutic residential care services. It offers individualized assistance and support services for children. The organization also provides abstinence education services that include an interactive curriculum of sexual, drug, alcohol and tobacco abstinence for teenagers. In addition, the Lee County Youth Development Center offers after-school programs for children between the ages of 12 and 17. It provides correctional, transitional and psychological services. The organization additionally offers psychiatric consulting, clinical diagnoses, and residential and outpatient psychological assessment services. The Lee County Youth Development Center has a staff of more than 150 full- and part-time employees. It is located in Opelika, Ala.
