The Streets & Utilities division, governed by the City of Lafayette in Alabama, is responsible for the maintenance of city streets. It provides pothole repair, patching, street sweeping, alley grading, and painting and striping services. The division also installs and maintains school zone lights, and traffic and street signs. The Streets & Utilities division additionally offers fleet and equipment maintenance services for ambulances, loaders, stripers, emergency response trucks, and police and fire vehicles. It supplies water to more than 8,000 residential and commercial customers. The division also maintains over 120 miles of water transmission and distribution lines and pressure regulatory valves. The Streets & Utilities division is a part of the Public Works Department, which offers curbside trash and recycling programs and water reclamation and treatment services.
