Founded in 1928, Baggett Transportation is one of the top carriers for the Department of Defense in Alabama. The company began its operation in the transportation business as a local carrier in Alabama hauling dynamite for the local coal companies. Baggett Transportation also transports explosives and munitions for commercial shippers. The company holds authorities, certificates and permits to transport all levels and types of hazardous and special commodities that the Department of Transportation allows to move along the highway. It is also engaged in less than truck load business within the State of Alabama and other areas of the southeastern United States. Baggett Transportation hauls explosives, radioactive and hazardous materials throughout Canada and the U.S.
