Cotaco Junior High School, founded in 1952, offers classes from grades six through eight. Its curriculum includes a reading initiative program that focuses on phonics, phoneme awareness, fluency, comprehension and vocabulary. The school also offers supplies, such as pencils, erasers, pens, note books, binders, folders, tissues and CDs. Additionally, the school encourages participation in extracurricular activities, including clubs, chorus and sports. Located in Somerville, Ala., Cotaco Junior High School is a part of the Morgan County Schools that operates elementary, middle and high educational institutions. It also offers special education programs for people with developmental disabilities. Its media center has a van that visits the schools and delivers the requested material
