Founded in 1993, The Capitol School works for the intellectual, physical and technical development of students in pre-kindergarten through 12. The school offers classes in history, mathematics, Spanish, English, physical education, art and music. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The Capitol School organizes several sports activities, such as swimming and soccer. The school has a work force of more than 15 employees, including teachers and support staff members. It maintains a parent-teacher association that organizes fundraisers and Thanksgiving dinner. The Capitol School offers various recreational opportunities through several clubs and is located in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The school has received its first full accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
