Providence Hospital Rehab Services has been providing high quality physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology services to the Mobile area for over 35 years. Beth M. Rouse Rehabilitation and Wellness Center on the Providence Hospital campus provides physical therapy services including aquatics. We offer a private, heated pool for off-loading joints and working on balance and conditioning. Water therapy is excellent for treating fibromyalgia, chronic pain, arthritis and spinal pain. This location also provides dry needling, vestibular rehab, etc. Physical therapy can address and improve both acute and chronic conditions such as joint pain, arthritis, spine disorders and balance issues that impact your comfort and mobility, o Spine Disorders: Our therapists are trained in the McKenzie approach and the Maitland manual technique. Both are effective in treating postural pain, instability, muscle strain, facet joint concerns, herniated or bulging discs, stenosis, sacroiliac joint issues, scoliosis, spondylosis, spondylolisthesis and post-operative conditions. o Orthopedics: Many of our physical therapy patients have undergone total hip, total knee and total shoulder replacements. Other orthopedic conditions our team is skilled in treating include rotator cuff tears and repairs, hand injuries that do not require custom splinting, athletic injuries such as ACL tears and repairs, post-operative fractures, foot pain and even basic sprains and strains. We can also evaluate your feet and recommend special shoe orthotics if needed. o Vestibular Rehabilitation: Our clinic is one of only a few physical therapy centers in the area to offer vestibular rehabilitation, using brain recalibration techniques to evaluate and treat vertigo and dizziness.
