We provide high-quality professional counseling and therapeutic mentoring services to children and teens, ages 4-19 who have a confirmed or suspected mental illness or behavior disorder. Parakeleo' is a Greek word meaning to come alongside, to encourage, strengthen, and teach. We offer both child and teen counseling -including play therapy and walk & talk therapy- to children as young as 4 years of age. Play therapy is a special therapeutic approach that allows counselors to encourage play in ways that reveal concerns, problems, and challenges the child may be struggling to articulate. Play therapy offers children and adolescents a less threatening approach to talk therapy. Our mission is to help young people and their families achieve mental and emotional wellness in an environment optimally designed to support healing, growth, and transformation. Here, children and teens develop self-control, self-responsibility, and appropriate self-esteem. Many teens are brought to counseling at the suggestion of their parent/caregiver.
