Alabama's Mountains Rivers-Valleys Resource Conservation Development Council (AMRV RC&D) is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to the sustainable development and well-being of communities in the Tennessee Valley region. With over 45 years of experience, AMRV RC&D has successfully completed more than 500 projects, benefiting member counties by bringing in over nine million dollars in funding. Through grant giving, project funding, and the operation of the WaterWorks Center for Environmental Education, AMRV RC&D strives to improve the quality of life for residents while promoting environmental responsibility and the wise use of natural resources.
As one of many RC&Ds statewide and nationwide, AMRV RC&D consists of a dedicated board of directors and council members who are community leaders in conservation, resource management, environmental stewardship, and community development. Their expertise, combined with the efforts of experienced and educated staff, allows AMRV RC&D to develop and implement projects and services that benefit the multi-county area, focusing on the protection of natural and human resources. With a commitment to community and rural development, AMRV RC&D continues to make a positive impact on the counties and communities of North Alabama.
