The Home Smith Bar was named after Robert Home Smith, a Toronto native who became an entrepreneur, developer and visionary of the Humber River Valley. The lush, green space and network of ravine trails surrounding the Old Mill Hotel and spreading all the way down to Lake Ontario exists because of his efforts. Home Smith built the Old Mill Tea Room in 1914 as a community gathering space. It was re-established in 2001 as The Home Smith Bar for the same purpose of gathering community. The Home Smith Bar is just off the main lobby of the Old Mill Toronto Hotel.
