All the amenities of a modern facility are featured in this splendid, historic spa and bath house—against a backdrop of spectacular alpine scenery. You will luxuriate in the comfort of soothing hot water where travelers have come to “take the waters” for more than a century. Banff’s premier attraction features: an outdoor terrace, Wonder of Water hydrology exhibit and historic swimsuits (1920's) for rent. Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Last entry is 9:30 p.m. It also offers the Outfitters Gift Shop and the Upper Hot Springs Cafe.
Tips
"Remember towels, waterproof camera and to pack light as the lockers are small. Deer sightings here are frequent! @kleingroup www.kleingroup.com"
"Take a bottle of water with you as you'll get dehydrated from the constant 40 degree water"
"This is an iconic place, it's what made Banff a Park ( actually the original hot springs are the Cave & basin) Need to check the temperature as it is not always hot."
"This is one of our favourite spots to relax after our group hikes in the surrounding area. Try the historic swimsuits for laugh and giggles!"
"Climb Sulfer Mountain, ride the Gondola back, then finish the day off at the hot springs! Well worth it!"
"Go early in the morning. The water is fresh and the crowds will have yet to arrive."
"Rent the vintage/traditional bathing suits they have! They're full-bodied for men and women (and kids sizes!). They make for great photos and memories..and they'll turn some heads in the hot springs!"
