The Wetlands Nature Center and miles of trails are part of a city public works and parks project. The center, open on the weekends, features displays about the local ecosystem in English and Spanish. Guided tours are offered on Sunday afternoons but the trails - including four miles of paved paths and 23 trail entrances in neighborhoods all over the city - are open all the time. The center welcomes student groups, and several adult education classes, including a birding program, also use the facility.
Take a guided Exploration Walk Sundays at 1:30 p.m.
